Just 5 km from the main town of Salento, Tenuta Castelvetri covers 32,000 square meters, consisting of housing and recreational facilities that are perfectly integrated into the rural context of the masseria.
In total there are:
• 22 rooms
• 8 bedrooms
• 8 bathrooms
• 5 kitchenettes
• 1 vegetable garden
• 1 swimming pool
The aesthetic project of the structure aims at re-proposing the stylistic icons that characterize the entire Salento territory: the setting of the main body, for example, recalls that of the ancient fortified masserie, as well as the towers of the housing units recalling the sighting outposts scattered throughout the whole coast and the outbuildings are reminiscent of the pajaro, the typical rural building made with the drywall technique.
The large internal courtyard is adorned with a pergola made of stone and wooden planks which, in the shape, position and functionality, recalls the architecture of the baroque interior cloisters and offers a shaded area under which you can admire the surrounding panorama.
In perfect alignment with the original vocation of this type of construction, a cultivation area has been set up behind the central unit: bounded by a small dry-stone wall, the garden is equipped with services (including access to water and a composting tank) useful for the activity, thus allowing to satisfy the needs of the structure.
Moreover, the perimeter walls are dotted with small fountains that, every 10 meters, guarantee practical access to running water and are absolutely drinkable; furthermore, going dark, everything lights up thanks to the lighting system incorporated in the dry-stone walls.
Finally, two very important services are the commodities of a completely underground LPG tank and a UV water sanitizing system that guarantees perfect water purification and a completely safe use.
